What should I pay attention to when cleaning the nanofiltration membrane?

2022-05-17

Through a large number of tests and anatomical analysis of nanofiltration membranes, it is found that most of the stains in organic membranes such as energy-saving nanofiltration membranes come from organic matter, microorganisms and their by-products. The cleaning of nanofiltration membranes can not only use acidic and alkaline cleaners, but a better choice is to use non-oxidative disinfectants for disinfection. Nissin Hengchuang introduced: In the long run, the use of special cleaning agents for membranes can improve production efficiency and prolong the service life of membranes. So what should you pay attention to when cleaning nanofiltration membranes? It will be explained from three aspects as follows:

       1. Clean up residual detergent

When cleaning, pay attention to cleaning up the cleaning agent remaining in the membrane. If the cleaning agent is not cleaned well, it is easy to accumulate stains in the membrane system, and even shorten the service life of the nanofiltration membrane. Alkaline cleaners are less effective at removing stains.

       2. Cleaner with low metal content

Choose a cleaning agent that is low in metals when cleaning. Detergents with high metal content will chemically react with proteins, colloids, phenols and polysaccharides in the stains during the cleaning process to generate new stains, and a small amount of such stains will remain in the membrane pores or The surface of the membrane, once produced, is difficult to be hydrolyzed by acid or alkali.

       3. The detergent should be easily soluble in water

When cleaning, choose a detergent that is easily soluble in water. Detergents that are difficult to dissolve in water will cause stains in hard-to-clean positions such as the inside of the membrane pores or the surface of the membrane, and react with the original stains in the pores of the membrane or on the surface of the membrane to form a crystal structure. In particular, the location where such crystals are generated is generally in the micropores of the nanofiltration membrane or on the surface of the membrane, and it is difficult to clean and dissolve them with ordinary acidic detergents. Once these crystalline structures are formed, the crystalline surface is almost inaccessible to direct contact with cleaning agents

Pure citric acid or other common acidic products will not remove new stains that have merged with the original stain. In the production process of the membrane system, the manufacturer of the nanofiltration membrane filter element should fill the inside of the nanofiltration membrane with a non-oxidizing disinfectant and protective agent to protect the internal structure of the membrane and avoid excessive microbial bacteria breeding in the membrane.
